Dragon's Curse (aka Adventure Island) :: December...

American release.
Another odd instance of a game coming out first in America, although that’s mitigated somewhat by Dragon’s Curse being a port of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap. The name “Adventure Island” is not at all inappropriate, though, considering that Hudson Soft first used the name for its own Wonder Boy-alike on the NES.
